Professional Face and Body Artists in the US should continually strive to stay knowledgeable and up to date on new regulations in the cosmetic industry.
As the owner of RI Face and Body Art, it’s my goal to not only stay up-to-date, but to share information that I think is significant.
The Modernization of Cosmetic Regulation Act of 2022 (MoCRA) is the most significant expansions of FDA regulations on cosmetics to date and it will have a great impact on the cosmetic industry as a whole.
Generally speaking this means that the formulas used for specific colors have changed, and many of these changes center around the use of Neon pigments.
I am phasing out the use of non-compliant products, which is acceptable, and going forward I will only be using products that meet these new FDA guidelines.
So what does this mean to my customers? Probably nothing! ☺️ To and your children, this change should be transparent. I’ll be looking through my inventory and pulling out non-compliant products to use for practice/training purposes only, and then I will gradually replace these items in my kit with the compliant makeup. Ta-da!
If you would like more information on the new guideline, because it does impact ALL COSMETICS, not just face paint, I am sharing the link below to the FDA site. Please review it if you have any questions.
In the meantime we are gearing up for a fun summer season! 🌊☀️
You can feel confident that RI Face and Body Art Co. will always strive to use industry best practices. When you book a party with us, cleanliness, safety, quality and professionalism is where we strive to stand out!
Happy Summer!
